Loved it. Before I go on too much, let me preface this with the statement that I went to this store's predecessor (also named Enchanted Grounds) in Aurora a lot when I was in high school. This store is under new ownership (they bought the name) but has a similar theme (coffee shop + gaming store). Let me get back to the review now. First, it's a nice coffee shop. The coffee was really tasty - very smooth & mellow - and the food looked good too. I just say looked because I wasn't hungry at the time. The service was great too. There's quite a few tables in the coffee shop area that are separate from the gaming store section (which has separate large tables) but I imagine the tables are used for gaming too on busy nights. Now, as far as the game section goes, it's very well stocked. I'd say it's about 1/4 traditional family games & puzzles, 1/4 comic books, 1/4 tabletop role-playing books, and 1/4 enthusiast board games. (Enthusiast board games are games that have more detailed rules and less reliance on luck than "normal" family board games; they're usually targeted at adults & teens.) Actually, they also have a lot of collectible card game stuff too, which would be another 1/4... but that makes 5/4. Hmm. At any rate, they have a lot of stuff. They also host game tournaments and such if you like that sort of thing. As you can tell by my rating, I really liked this place. Will definitely be back. Many times.

The best store for your basic gaming needs in the metro area. The coffee and tea are good, the staff friendly and knowledgeable, and the game selection good. They don't carry the expensive Games Workshop lines, but they carry a solid selection of board games and RPGs, as well as comics, party games, puzzles, etc. I would vote this the best gaming store to take your non-gaming friends and family to. They can always sit in the main area and have a drink while you pore over the latest D&D products!

This is a great coffee and game comic shop. The people that work there are friendly and nice. You can set and read not have to buy a thing great place love it.

Excellent store! Really cool idea to pair gaming, comics, and a coffee store. The staff is friendly, though the selection of product suffers a bit - really great for Warmachine, RPGs, and Malifaux, but no GW stuff, and the board game selection is a bit limited. Food and drinks are pretty good too, and it's near good restaurants for more substantial food. Really community friendly!

This place makes me want to move to Denver gaming store and coffee shop together. Great selection of games and rpg books very clean and friendly staff. The chai I had was great and got the game I was looking for. This is a great place to hang out.

Great coffee and friendly staff combine to give Enchanted Grounds a leg up here in the land of Starbucks. I went in with questions about video games (which they don't sell or provide) and quickly was helped by a consummate gamer to find local used video game stores - chains and Mom & Pop stores. I know it might seem irrelevant, but it's that kind of willingness to help that makes the experience of a place like Enchanted Grounds worth a visit.

I totally fell in love with this place. Coffee, Gaming, Wi Fi, and good people.

Found this place on a later-evening hunt called "where can we go for coffee, i.e., who is still open that's not a starbucks?" Bonus: a total nerdfest of gaming, which means shopping AND people watching. And a decent chai and friendly service to boot. I dig it, I'll be back. Also picked up an interesting board game for the kiddos (who were not with us at the time) AND ... random fun fact.... they have an amazing assortment of DICE for sale ! All sizes and shapes and we got the kids some that are smaller than a pencil eraser. Like, the size of a tick maybe. And dice with 6 sides, 9 sides, 20 sides, 100 sides, seriously! Dice like I have never seen before, dozens of shapes and kinds, rainbow dice, light-up dice, you name it. We bought a whole bunch, couldn't help it. I warned ya, it's a total nerd fest !! Fun fun fun. Nerd fun.

I have been going to enchanted grounds for 2 years off and on. Since day one, I've never liked the service. Recently I had a very negative customer service encounter (the last of many) with the manager Jeff (bald guy). On several occasions he has been somewhat rude and after several experiences enchanted grounds has lost a customer. I have spent hundreds of dollars here and each experience with any staff member has been increasingly unpleasant due to untimeliness, lack of management and overall care for the business. The atmosphere is unwelcoming and elitist. The coffee is mediocre and the selection is the same. If you're a gamer, or a coffee lover, there are many better game shops and much better coffee and friendly staff to be found elsewhere.

I love going into Enchanted Grounds! Whether I'm going in for a coffee or needing to quench a gaming fix it always meets my needs. One thing that makes this shop outshine some of the other gaming/coffee shops is its attention to detail. There is a personal touch on everything in that store and I love that the owner cares about every little thing. The atmosphere is perfect for studying or gaming and there is always something happening. I love going in, I just wish it was a little closer to me.:(

I stumbled on this coffee shop while out for a run. What a delight. It has games and gaming hobby items on sale and lots of sitting room for playing and meeting. The clientel seems to be mostly nerdy middle aged men, a group I enjoy. I had a scone and a cup of darjeeling tea. Yes they have darjeeling and it was nicely flavorful with no hint of coffee contamination.

This place is a rare gem among the sifted rubble of big-name chain coffee shops littering the south Denver suburbs. Comprised of a full-service coffee shop, a comic book store, a better-than-most board game shop carrying hard to find games and classics alike, a trading post and tournament site for M:TG players old and new, and a gathering spot for social gaming, club gatherings, and a book exchange. I love the chai here, and I can appreciate the gameporium atmosphere that genuinely reverbs on weekends and game nights. The management and staff are always friendly and engaging, they know their customer base well and they take care to cater to that base in both retail and service. Can't think of a better place for a cup of coffee and a game or two.

This place seems like it shouldn't exist - an independent store in Highlands Ranch? A coffee shop? A coffee shop/game emporium? It all just seems improbable. But it works. It serves the function of the coffee shop as community gathering place. Lots of seating, most of it comfy. Lots of table space for gaming or chatting. Great coffee and drinks, and food to keep you going. While this is Geek Central, there's other kinds of groups who gather here - bridge clubs, writers' groups, book clubs. You'll also see telecommuters coming in for a bit of company (and, unfortunately, yapping on their cell phones). It's a surprising oasis in Highlands Ranch. Check it out.

The workers here are very friendly and are very good about making you feel welcomed there. They have a variety of coffee options with some food options as well (burritos, muffins, cookies, etc.) Tons of people come here to buy/play board games, chess, magic cards, you name it. It's pretty geektastic here and a perfect place to bust out your Pokemon cards in a friendly competition. I however came here to study and was able to do that too because the volume of the patrons wasn't too loud and there were plenty of tables. Plus, parking is easy.

I had heard that game cafés existed but never visited one. I had visions of spending a leisurely afternoon sprawled out over a nice meaty game of Agricola or something, but as a visitor to the city with limited bag space to purchase, we were going to be limited to playing their demo stock. Which as we were very sad to discover was limited mostly to fluffy take that munchkinesque games and not a meaty Euro to be seen. They do sell some of these but with no room to carry one back on the plane we ended up just taking our coffee to go. They do have a number of tables and a better-than-Barnes&Noble board game selection but for a real hard core gamer couple like us with over 200 games in our collection there were only a couple titles we would have considered even having the space. Still, I love the idea of having a place you can bring your games to play and enjoy some good coffee, and I am sure for more casual gamers their open game selection might be more appealing. The space is clean and the staff was friendly, so I can't ding them too hard for catering to a more fluffy gaming crowd.

They opened up another Enchanted Grounds near Bowles and Platte Canyon in Littleton. The differ by kinds of coffee are excellent and they make some mean sandwiches. The also have a game room and lots of books to read. Lots a very laid back place with wifi.

They are well-stocked and have a friendly staff. The coffee is great, and they have a pretty good selection of snack-type-foods (sandwiches, cookies, pastries, etc.). My single complaint is that, during high-traffic times, they tend to run out of tables. I tend to go for paint, though, when I run out or need a color I don't have, so that usually doesn't bother me much. (They're a game store, too! What's not to love?)

Out of all the coffee places we have been trying, this one has been the worst. The coffee they serve is a special blend from Coda called the enchanted blend. Ugh..it is not so good. The customer service is even worse. There was no *real* attempt to try to correct a situation for an unsatisfied customer. I had high expectations due to such a high rating...wow, what a total disappointment! Maybe it was just the person working that set the tone for our visit, but unfortunately we are likely not going to return to find out. The vibe was a bit off too. If you are a gamer, perhaps you will enjoy your time here...lots of tables and stuff for sale...little action figures, comic books, and boxed games....but if you come here for the coffee, buyer beware. Looking around at other customers who are here, only 2 other people out of 15 appear to have even gotten coffee! Yikes. 2 stars instead of 1 cause they have organic Coda and keep the cream refrigerated. Yea!

I LOVE THIS PLACE. While studying for my CPA exam, I came here initially because of the free wifi. I stayed for the comfortable uncrowded atmosphere, plentiful tables, and absolutely incredible iced coffee. Seriously. Do NOT miss their iced coffee. I have no words for this stuff. I've never tried anything else as good. Just sayin. Also, I'm not into gaming at all, but still loved the vibe in this place, and kind of appreciated that I wasn't distracted by conversations at other tables, since I had zero idea what they were talking about. (And that's a serious win when it comes to studying!) I sincerely wish I still lived nearby this place.

I can't comment on the games as that isn't my thing but this place definitely serves that niche well as there are always tables of folks playing their games and enjoying themselves. I only stop in for a latte, which are delicious. The baristas are friendly and make a delicious drink. My kids love the frappes too.

Got your nerd kid hook up right here! RPG? Got it. Puzzles? Got it. Comics? Got it. Fine D & D games running all the time? Got it. Wonderful Coffee? Yep that too. Nice staff, and fun for the whole family rounds this place out as a must go if you're in to any of the above items.

It's a cute little coffee shop where you can grab a good cup of coffee and play board games to your heart's desire. They do offer tester games so don't be shy to ask to try it out!

This is one of my favorite spots to meet people. It is quiet, clean and the coffee is fantastic! I highly recommend the Florentine! The staff are personable and friendly with a genuine warmth, and service is prompt and very courteous. Comfortable seating is available, with wifi access available I love giving this place my business.

My wife and I have been in about 10 or so times and generally it's been a fine experience. They have a decent selection and I've bought a few board games and RPG supplies. Up to this point, I would have said it was a 3 or 4 star experience, until yesterday when I had the misfortune of meeting the owner. I had looked up the hours of the store and seen they were going to be open until midnight. Unfortunately when my wife and I got there it was posted on the door that they were closing early for New Year's Eve at 4pm (This is fine), I still had about 20 minutes to find what I needed. I proceeded to their D&D supplies and started to pick up a few items I needed and was then approach by the owner. He asked if there was something he could help us with, so my wife asked a few questions, at which point the owner seemed to be annoyed (I assume because he wanted us to leave). My wife then walked off to look at another item while I finished getting my supplies. As I went to get my wife I passed by the owner again, and he asked, quite forcefully "Are you READY to check out?" At which point I said, "Not Quite Yet." My wife and I then went to the counter to get checked out. While waiting the owner was being rude to a customer in front of us and giving inaccurate information. Generally he seemed completely frustrated that his customers wouldn't just leave the store. While checking me out, he then was frustrated because he had to check my license because I don't sign my credit cards. By this point it was perhaps 5 minutes after 4, but the way he acted it was like we had been squatting for hours. I don't think I'm going to go back, I've spent a few hundred dollars here over the last couple of years and though I'm not a regular, I feel like customers in general should be treated better. If I'm going to be treated like that I might as well save money and buy my supplies online.

Found this place on Yelp. Great espresso drinks. Get it in the "for here" ceramic cups. Solid wifi. Lots of seating. Friendly people (even though I'm not a gamer :).

I was only able to stay a minute but wish I could have stayed longer. This looks like a great place to relax with a book or with friends. Very relaxing atmosphere. I ordered the Egyptian Chamomile and wow. It was heavenly. I am going to be craving a cup and stopping in again I'm sure.

I'm a coffee drinker, but I'm not a "gamer". When you walk into this establishment, it's quite spacious with many desks and tables for patrons to use their laptops and the like. There are shelves with board games, checkers, and chess to borrow and another area, that was a bit strange, where they retail games and game-associated dice, cards, etc. The coffee was quite nice, actually. I'd prefer this over Starbucks any day. I probably would have given it 4 stars, but it seemed that the service was a bit lacking. I will go back, solely because the coffee was very good. Bad service CAN often times kill an experience for me, but it wasn't bad enough to do so, here at Enchanted Grounds. If I had more friends, no obligations or responsibilities, I'd probably be one of those guys that spends 3 hours at a place like this playing chess, reading and drinking coffee.

What a horrible experience. I've been here 3 or 4 times, and I have had ups and downs to this place. I'm a Pathfinder Society person; a board game fan, and a few friends and I have only just gotten back into Magic the Gathering. Whenever we go in, the experience is dependent upon whether or not the owner is also there. The general staff is really nice and helpful whenever I go in, and I really like the idea of a game/coffee shop. However, the owner (some bald guy named Jeff I think, I see his picture below) has made it a point to be as short/unhelpful as possible whenever we enter. We went for a tournament one night - my first ever tournament, mind you - and all he did was yell and put down everyone involved. The next time I came in, 2 friends came along. One of my friends had never been in before and was carrying a Vitamin Water. The owner swiftly came to the table to inform him that he had to leave because of some restaurant licensing issue. On top of this, he was happy to inform us that what we were doing was incredibly rude. My friend had never entered the store before and was being told he was rude. At that point, my friends and I left and will ne'er return. It's a shame. Such great potential and such awful service. In my opinion, I encourage you to visit the shop because it is a nice place and a nice idea, but don't go if it's a Monday/Friday (when the owner is in) because the owner makes the entire experience disappointing. If you're south of Denver, I would seek other options (Collectormania, etc) because there are just much better experiences out there.

Been here more times than I can count now. their coffee is Great, no question about that. They have a ton of organized game play, D&D, Pathfinder, Warmachine, Warhammer, Magic the Gathering and more. The have enough stuff to support those games and more. As for it being a game store, it's great. It doesn't have that dusty looking gym sock smell that most Game/RPG stores have, and the bathrooms are clean too! This is my favorite game store in the Denver area, and probably Colorado. I never had a problem with any of the staff there they are all friendly.

I have been going to EG since it opened. I'm not a gamer, but whenever I have gone in to buy coffee, games or chai, I have been helped very efficiently, and greeted by friendly staff 100% of the time. Their drinks are excellent, and they have fabulous pastries too... I highly recommend the chocolate chip scone, or orange cranberry muffin cookie! YUM! They have late hours compared to other coffee shops (probably because they cater to the gaming crowd), and interesting games and puzzles. I'm considering buying Dixit, which is a French-designed story-telling game, but haven't decided yet. I have gone in around the holidays to purchase gifts, and was helped one on one by Jeff, the owner, who was very patient and helpful to me in explaining the different games. He definitely knows his inventory well, and has a passion for games! Thanks, EG!

We ventured into Enchanted Grounds on New Year's Eve to purchase a fair amount of D&D materials in preparation for an upcoming campaign (my first!) As we walked in I noticed a sign on the front door explaining that they'd be closing at 4p. I mentioned this to my husband because it was 3:45p when we entered. He was confused, since he'd read online (he *thought* on their web site, that the store was open until midnight on NYE but closed early on Christmas Eve). Regardless, the store was full of gamers, some still playing, so we headed to the D&D section to find what we needed. The owner, the bald guy, approached and asked if we needed help. I asked a question about a certain item, which he politely answered, and then returned to the counter. I wandered off to check out the rest of the store. On my way back to my husband, he passed near the counter and the owner asked pointedly "Are you ready to check out?" It was a few minutes before 4p and while I understand that the business was closing, the store was still full of people loitering, it was obvious that my husband wanted to look at the single miniatures, and he had $75 worth of merchandise in his arms. I like the concept and the ambiance of this unique brick and mortar too much to drop my rating down a star, but I would really appreciate consideration of customer service in the future. I managed a comic book and gaming store; I know the ropes, and I know that a $75 sale is more than a drop in the bucket for most of these places. With so many others loitering, a few extra minutes to browse and courtesy towards our patronage would have been much appreciated.

Great place. Bright and open. Great place to get your game on. Lots of gaming accessories, (multi-sided dice, MtG cards, etc.), as well as board based games. Plenty of gaming tables and comfy chair and a full coffee bar with all sorts of refreshments to fuel gaming sessions. While they do have graphic novels and comics, the emphasis is more on this being a gaming store. The selection is a little sparse, but the still worth looking over. This place is one of the best I've seen!

I came here to kill some time while waiting to meet up with friends at a nearby restaurant. I didn't want real food, but ordered a strawberry Italian steamer which was just fantastic. I'm normally not one to rave about steamers, but it was truly delicious. Enchanted Grounds caters to gamers, especially D &D and other games. I saw people gathered in groups playing different games. In addition to games, the coffee house also has game paraphernalia for sale. It's a large space inside and they also sell books, possibly comics, geared towards gaming as well. They also offer sandwiches, pastries, chips and other food items and of course, coffee. There's free Wi-Fi too, so I was able to hang out and read for an hour or so uninterrupted. It's an interesting place and if I am ever in the neighborhood (which I am since I have friends who live in the adjacent neighborhood), I will stop by again without hesitation.

Unleash your inner geek! I finally tried this place out after I found out it was more for gamers than for comic book fans. So glad I finally did! The tables are filled with people playing every sort of new, funky board game out there. Want to give one a try? Ask an employee for one from the list, or they will bring a pile out for you so you can look at them and decide. Or bring your own games! We can hang out here for hours just playing. Old folks, young ones -- it doesn't matter. AND they are open late on the weekend so that you can do this instead of going bar hopping. There are special events, like Heroclix night, Star Wars X-Wing night, etc -- so you can learn one of those games or participate in a tournament (I believe there is a buy-in to do so). And they are a good coffee shop, too -- so we can enjoy treats. If you get there early enough on a Saturday, you can try one of the special donuts (I've never gotten there early enough) and I like the unlimited tea cup (the Red Rocks tea is yummers). In the same strip mall, there is a sushi place and a Mexican place, so you can grab lunch or dinner, then wander into Enchanted Grounds for an afternoon/evening of gaming. Go try something new! The only downside is that they need more tables and chairs on some nights. :) The games aren't discounted, so a lot of the newer ones are really expensive. But the fact that you can try them first is a bonus, and they carry a lot of unusual ones.

I LOVED coming to this cafe, whether to meet a date or with friends, there's something here for everyone! We used to come here a lot to play games before buying them. Spent hours on Bananagrams and other fun things. I would recommend scoping this out if you're in the area. Such a fun place. Oh and chock full of gamer nerds. HAHA!

I have been going to Enchanted Grounds to host and play in some RPG games over the last year. Jeff and the staff have been very helpful. I know that I can buy some of the rpg books online for a lot less, but I buy from Enchanted Grounds to help support them. They also do a great podcast from time to time.

1st and foremost they serve high quality coffee provided by the Colorado based Coda coffee company. Expressos and lattes are brewed with expertise and care. The atmosphere is like none other in that it is part coffee shop and part game shop. When I visited there were people working on their laptops as well as people playing a board game together. It appears to be the go to place if you live in the south centennial, south littleton, or highlands ranch area.

Great atmosphere, good game selection, a tiny but up-to-date comics corner, and very helpful staff! The proprietor at the game counter immediately knew details about the games we were considering, and helped us make a good decision.

Stopped here with a friend the other day, just to scope out the store - he was seeking something specific to buy. What can I say that hasn't been said by everyone else who's reviewed here? It's a handsome store from the outside and looks well kept-up. Inside of course, you've got your coffee, snacks, sandwiches and big-sized tables you can plunk down at and chat...or game. This place has a wide assortment of puzzles, board games (Life, Monopoly, and probably 50 others you haven't heard of), role-playing games, collectible card games, of COURSE the collectible card expansion packs (that's where game companies make their monehz), figurines, various paint/art/brush supplies for putting your own personal touch on them, all manner, shape and size of dice (not just 6-siders, folks) -- they even have some clever dice in that are transparent and have tiny dies inside them so you can "roll twice" for every 1 roll you make ;), starter gaming kits, game manuals and scenario expansion publications -- and a small corner with a wide assortment of comic books, graphic novels and entire sets of books -- actually saw a full set of Sandman novels there, which I've never seen in a store before. There is even a spin carousel of cheesy Archie comics. This place does NOT have software/cartridge-based games, so if you think it's the be-all end-all for all your gaming needs, it is not - but for what they do, they have a pretty amazing assortment of stuff here. Speaking of stuff, *I* was stuffed when we got here, so I didn't get to actually sample the food, but probably sometime in the future it will be checked out. Very impressive.

Board games! Card games! RPG! Puzzles! Comics! Coffee! Cookies! Pastries! Did you ever walk into a place and feel completely at home? As a part-time gamer and full-time coffee drinker, I am enchanted over Enchanted Grounds, indeed. What do I love? -- Friendly staff. -- Bright and well-lit environment -- A good number of electrical outlets so that you can sit and work on your laptop for a bit. -- Good selection of games and puzzles (the comic slection is a little more limited, but still pretty good) -- Smooth coffee -- Sandwiches from Udi's -- Cookies n' stuff from various sources -- "Bottomless" soda refills -- "Lite" coffee flavors That last one needs a bit of explaining. Regular flavored syrups have about 100 calories per serving. The Lite variety that they carry here have only 20 calories per serving. They aren't sugar-free (because they have those flavors, too). Their flavor list is extensive, and I've already tried an Irish Cream and Tiramisu flavored latte. (Both fabulous). Too bad that this place is a bit of a drive for my husband and me. Otherwise, we'd be camped out here all the damn time.

Enchanted Grounds is not just a coffee shop that sells games, it's a great place to have community meetings or just plain work. I enjoy the atmosphere when I want to get out and away from my normal surroundings. It's a rather large place where the community comes and goes all day long. I'm not a coffee drinker, but do enjoy their Chai. They also serve juice and energy drinks so one isn't obliged to drinking coffee. There's also a nice looking selection of pastry, sandwiches and chips maybe I'll try lunch sometime!

It's been a year since my original review of Enchanted Grounds, so I thought I should share an update. I still love the place! I no longer play Magic: The Gathering, but I've moved on to Dungeons and Dragons, which Enchanted Grounds also supports fantastically well. I always try to buy my gaming supplies here rather than online in order to support the store. They have regular D&D games in the store at least three times a week, and the service has always been excellent. I'm a very loyal customer.

  • Sharon A.

This place gets a 5 star rating for their coffee and a 2 star rating for atmosphere. They claim to be a "gameporium" which I took to meaning they have games for you to play while you enjoy their coffee but instead they meant they have games for you to buy. They have a huge selection of games however they are on the expensive side. So instead of hanging out here we just stopped by and grabbed coffee.

Enchanted Grounds is not for the hardcore Warhammer player, but it does play host to many different types. Coffee drinkers (and tea drinkers) can get their fix here and enjoy the coffee half of the location, and gamers hang back in the corner where the hardcore games are located. They sell Magic Cards and other CCGs in packs and singles, as well as tabletop war games. Between the coffee drinkers and the gamers are an abundance of casual but entertaining games - classics like Go and Pacheesi, and newcomers like the Munchkin series and Axis & Allies. Comics, toys, trinkets, it's all here. I love grabbing a coffee and getting on the Wi-Fi, much like an urban counterpart would do. The staff are very friendly and willing to accomodate special coffee requests. The owner responded quickly when I asked about setting up a club for a game at his store, and he even spoke with me at length about how to best sell my old MTG collection. Enchanted Ground hosts regular gaming sessions and tournaments. So, it's a great place for all occasions.

Wonderful place to meet with friends, get some coffee and a treat, and play some games. I got four of my friends into Magic here, played my first D&D game here, and have had more pleasant conversations with friends here than I can count. I couldn't recommend it more! (The coffee does take a while to be made, though, just as a warning to those who are in a rush. This is definitely a sit-down place!)

Our family loves enchanted Grounds. Good coffee, reasonable prices and a fantastic environment. The best selection of games card, board, and role playing) in town!

X-wing and coffee? A frackin' brilliant idea! Good coffee to boot. Americano! And Millennium Falcon! Make this everywhere. Haiku review

Wow - 1 star for the coffee (note - at any coffee place, if they ask you if you want a dry cappuccino, and you're getting it in a real cup, cancel your order and just get coffee, because you're going to get espresso with 4" of frothywhippyfoamystuff on top of it if you don't). Add one star for the cool candy bars at the register - the dark chocolate was good. Add two stars for the cool concept - game shop and coffee shop - they had a lot of people hanging out, playing games. How cool is that? Would be a cool place to come and hang out and play games (and buy new games to play). Add another start if you're a comic book fan. Add another star because there are electrical outlets everywhere (thank you!) Then deduct 3 stars because...the coffee sucks. If they fix the coffee, this place could be a 6 star place.

I'm not a fantasy gamer or even know what point totals are on 20 sided dice, but I do know good coffee and espresso. I love coming to this place, big fan of checking out gamers deep in fantasy land! Lando Latte please!! That's not the name of the latte, but I think it is a character in Star Wars. Just messing with you EG! This place kicks ass and I think I get those who play WOW or D&D!! Trek on and give this place a try, a hidden Zelda Gem! Okay, that's all the gamer shit I know.

Gaming, comics, coffee and food, why would I need to leave? Enchanted grounds is an awesome location should you be the pen and paper role playing type. Along with having all the books, accessories, etc that you might need for a gaming session, they also host events (Wednesday nights are Adventure's League for Dungeons and Dragons, along with a Saturday or two per month) where if you don't have a regular game to play are a great way to get into it, or get back into it. The food is definitely acceptable, but is coffee shop fare (the toasted sandwiches are lovely though). The community within the shop is surprisingly friendly (in other gaming shops I have experienced looks from the regulars as though I did not belong) and a real joy to be around. People are (as people often are) very excited about what they enjoy and generally willing to help people understand why what they enjoy is as awesome as they feel it is. A great place to spend a weeknight evening gaming, or pick up a gaming supply that you can't wait for shipping for.

So excited to have come across this place! Good coffee + game shop, with plenty of room for sitting down and game playing with friends (or strangers!) Service was friendly, and coffee was good. They've got a full schedule of game nights--might have to sign my husband up!

I love a good coffee shop and am pretty picky about what constitutes a good one. Enchanted Grounds is by all means one of the best out there! The vibe/atmosphere is what makes Enchanted Grounds so great. This coffee shop doubles as a gaming shop. You can purchase pretty much any game imaginable here (and we have done so when looking for an out of the ordinary game) and they provide large tables for you to set up games and play with your fellow friends! Awesome. I also work from home in the summers so often take my computer here and it is quiet enough to get work done while being entertaining enough with all the gamers about to make life enjoyable. Coffee is good too (not the greatest...but honestly the reason to go here is the atmosphere). Thank you enchanted grounds for providing such an awesome concept in a coffee shop. Big fan here.

This place is really great for shopping for board games and card games in person, as there is a big selection available on site. There is also a small selection of comic books in one corner. The staff members are very helpful and will order games they don't have in stock. There are usually people sitting around playing games, giving the store a nice vibe (although basically just lots of geeky white guys of all ages and sizes and descriptions).

I could hang out here all damn day. Great coffee with special attention paid to foam creaminess that I miss at most coffee places these days. Plus, board games for sale, and store associates who are all about finding you the perfect figurine for your only slightly shameless unicorn-themed D&D campaign. People of all ages here, too: I've seen kiddos playing Pokemon TCG and old ladies playing bridge and bingo in equal numbers. I will be back many, many times.

A warm and friendly environment. When I walked it it was almost as if the music stopped and people were wondering, "what is this hipster doing in here." But after I they realized I was in here to stay they were all smiles. My WCM was prepared by a short, short haired girl wearing a shirt that no doubt was a representation of her personality. The shots she pulled were not burnt and more importantly to me the milk was steamed correctly with the right amount of froff. Even then artwork was spot on. This int your typical coffee house, but in its own rights its among the best I've been to. So if you are into D&D, other board games, or even want a good pull of espresso shots this place is a place you will enjoy. My only complaints would be: 1) They get a square register iPad system for regular visitor perk and ease of check out. 2) Not just for the Eco but savings on company money, that they use mugs instead of the white to-go cups for everyone. 3) That the WiFi work correctly and consistently. As I've been here for 30mins and it's still not up and running.

I have frequently shopped here for gaming needs (MTG & Pathfinder). I have spent hundreds of dollars at a time here. I purchase cards here and then drive across town to play Friday night magic. I do this as to keep money in local businesses in my neighborhood. I play across town so that I can hang out with family and high school friends. However my experiences here have become increasingly bad, and I am sad to say I will no longer be supporting a local neighborhood store due to their greedy and rude attitudes. I am tired of being over charged for items. There is a fair market value and then there is the over inflated prices at enchanted grounds. Cards that are valued under $0.50 are given a minimum value of $3.00-4.00. Not to mention the inflated value of uncommon and even rare cards. After the prerelease of the last block of MTG15 I stopped in and asked to purchase a prerelease pack. I was rudely told that while yes they did have them, no that I could not purchase a pack. That the only way was to have entered their tournament the previous weekend. Even though other stores around town had them for sale. I personally overherd the owner of the shop telling a young kid not to buy card singles as it was a more expensive way to purchase cards. That the kid should open booster packs at $4.00 a piece to find what he was looking for. Yes in the long run you will have a lot more cards but you will have spent a lot more too. Especially when you consider the odds of opening a pack and finding a rare that you want, and combining this with the need to run 2, 3, or even 4 of a card for it to be competitive. When I was looking for a rare card from the Born of the Gods release the store owner said he didnt have any but I could open boosters until I found it. At 4 dollars a pack? NO THANKS. The final straw for me came last night. I finally convinced some friends to come play FNM at enchanted grounds. We were very excited to play at a new store and against new competition. A life long friend was with me, he is a great guy and he gets excited very easy. When he saw a card he had been looking to purchase for a while his excitment was expressed by saying " Oh man they got that s**t" with out an second of hesitation the owner launched into a rude attack about his language. My friend not even realizing what he had said asked the owner what he had said. The store owner in a much louder tone than my friend had used says to him "YOU SAID S**T". While I can understand a business owner wanting to set a standard of behavior to be followed in his establishment, there is a proper and polite way to do so. Needless to say we left and went to another store to make our purchases and play FNM(which was an awesome time). I understand the demographic and that as the only shop of its type in "Highlands Ranch" they can ask more and expect to get it. They can also expect a different type of clientele. What they can also expect is to not have me as a patron of their establishment. Where as I am walking distance to their store I will now drive to lakewood, parker, arvada, and thornton to do business with stores that treat their customer with a little respect. *** EDIT*** Much like others have said. Its not a bad place unless the owner is there.
